Not enough elected officials show up in Catskill for Village meeting

Many members of the public wasted their time attending the Oct. 23 Village of Catskill meeting that never was

So many elected officials did not show up for their job at the Oct. 23 Village of Catskill meeting, that there was not a quorum, and the meeting was called off. Natasha Law was not at the meeting, and at the Oct. 9 trustee meeting (read my coverage/see the video here), she said she would not be able to attend the Oct. 23 meeting. But one would only know that if they attended the meeting themselves, or watched or listened or read my archives and coverage of the event. (The Village of Catskill has also not posted meeting minutes since September.) The Village of Catskill does not, for some reason, livestream its meetings in 2024 as most towns and villages do. So the Village did not let the public know that any of these public officials would not be doing their work and attending the public meeting. Daniel Ward was at the meeting. Joseph Kozloski and Jeff Workman were also not there. The next Village of Catskill meeting is Oct. 30, next Wednesday, and a public hearing for the proposed opt-in to the Good Cause Eviction law. Watch video of the Oct. 23 Village of Catskill meeting below.

UPDATE, 5:46 p.m. EDT, Oct. 24: Two board members did not respond here, but just to the headline and link on a local social media page.

Natasha Law

Respectfully I announced at the last meeting I was not going to be in attendance hence the special meeting scheduled for next week as I was away this week and Joe had a medical emergency. I personally have missed 2 meetings in 6 years. And Joe probably is about the same. I however cannot speak for the other board member.

Joseph Kozloski

I planned on attending the meeting last night. I had a medical emergency that couldn’t wait. As a matter of fact when the meeting would have started I was in the St. Peter’s ER with my wife for MY emergency. In all the years I have been on the board I have missed 3 meetings. Last night was the 3rd I have missed since first elected in 2005. I take my elected position very seriously to represent my constituents at every and all meetings.
